Custom Auto-Motion Patterns‏ In Auto-Tune EFX2

Custom Auto-Motion Patterns‏ In Auto-Tune EFX2

Welcome to the first in our more in-depth looks at Auto-Tune EFX 2's new Auto-Motion™ Vocal Pattern Generation. This time we'll be looking at the process of creating your own custom Auto-Motion Patterns.

Roll Your Own

While Auto-Tune EFX 2 comes with over 65 built-in Auto-Motion patterns in a variety of styles, one of it's most powerful features is the ability to create your own custom patterns. While the process might at first glance seem a bit intimidating, particularly if you're not familiar with standard music notation, it's actually quite simple and, dare we say it, quite a bit of fun.

Here's how:

Auto-Tune EFX 2 Auto-Motion patterns are contained in a file entitled "Patterns.xml" in a standard format called MusicXML. This file can be edited by any application that can open and write MusicXML files. A list of MusicXML-aware applications can be found here. If you don't already have a MusicXML-aware application, you can download the free open source music notation program "MuseScore" here.

- The first step is to locate your Patterns.xml file. It's in different places for different operating systems, so refer to our Auto-Motion Pattern guide here (PDF) for the location of yours.
The "Patterns.xml" file contains all of the patterns available in Auto-Tune EFX 2. When you open it with a MusicXML-aware application, you'll see the patterns displayed as a conductor's score with one pattern per staff. (Although all of the patterns are notated in the key of C Major, their actual pitch is defined by the note of the vocal track at the moment the Trigger button is clicked, along with the currently set Key and Scale.)

-Start by creating a new staff (typically by adding a new "instrument" in your notation program) at the bottom of the score. Where you would normally enter the instrument name, enter instead the name of your pattern. This is the name that will show up in Auto-Tune EFX 2's "Select Pattern" menu.

-Begin creating your pattern on the first beat of the first measure of the new staff. Enter only eighth notes. If you want a note of your pattern to sustain for longer than an eighth note, enter multiple consecutive eighth notes at the same pitch.

If you are not familiar with music notation, don't worry, you can think of the staff as the rows of a pattern sequencer grid and place notes in the general shape of your desired pattern.
Continue placing notes until your pattern is complete. Then save and close the Patterns.xml file, launch your DAW, and instantiate Auto-Tune EFX 2. You'll find your new pattern at the bottom of the Select Pattern menu.
Audition your pattern. If its not exactly what you want, simply reopen your Patterns.xml, edit your pattern as desired and try again.
It's really as simple as that to customize Auto-Tune EFX 2 to ensure that your vocal tracks can always feature your own unique Auto-Motion effects.

  1. Adjust Microphone Volume to avoid any "extra" and " unwanted" sound

  3. If you are recording in you house make sure that you record you vocals in small room, and avoid any noise like cars, wind or something like that. You just want your vocal recorded not you neighbor.

Mastering / Mixing your vocal is second most important step in song making process. No matter if you are rock singer, RnB or hip hop/rap artist you surely want clear and powerful vocal. Adobe Audition CS5.5 Review

Adobe Audition CS5.5 review

Adobe Audition is one of the best music creating software ever made. No matter if you are professional music producer or just an amateur music producer you have to use Adobe Audition. No matter if you are rapper or singer, beat-maker or D.J. you need some Hi-quality software, and that is Adobe Audition CS5.5

Previous versions of Adobe Audition were very good, in fact they were great. That fact is confirmed by just one number -  there are over half of million Adobe Audition users. But with this new version of Adobe Audition the brand will be much more popular. I spent last week in testing and discovering all features that Adobe Audition CS5.5 has to offer and I am amazed about every thing that this software has to offer.

The first thing that I have noticed is very nice appearance,  very sexy and modern look. That change in design is not mess up all that simplicity that Adobe Audition have since first version. You will get used to this new look in matter of days even hours.

The second feature that I have noticed is some additional tools and effects that no other Audition versions have.
For example in this new version of Adobe Audition you can create 5.1 surrounded sound. That is absolutely awesome feature.

The third feature that I have noticed are great tools that will help you to get really quality sound even without some hi-tech hardware equipment. The sample-rates
and bit-rate are set to studio quality and you will enjoy listening your music.

Next feature is about plugins. Adobe Audition CS5.5 gives you opportunity to install any vst or direct X plugin you want. For example I have already installed Antares Auto-tune and GSnap VST Plugin.

Download Free Adobe Audition CS5.5 Now

So how to use those VST Plugins with new Adobe Audition CS5.5 to get one of the most famous effects - T-pain effect?

That is very simple, find vst plug-in that you want to add into Adobe Audition CS5.5 and install it. The next step is to record your vocals properly. Recording vocals is the most important step in song creation. You must know how to record you vocal to sound like studio-quality. The first thing that you have to do is setup you recording tracks. Always choose MONO recording. Why? Because mono sound is much easier to edit and you will get more efficient mastering process. If you record your vocal in STEREO mode your vocals will lose their power, and when you do mastering process the quality of record tracks will be so poor and messy. That is one thing you do not want in your song, right?
The best vst plugins for getting T-Pain effect are Auto-tune and Gsnap VST plugin.

World Star Hip Hop Eminem

Rapper. Eminem was born as Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He never knew his father, Marshall Mathers Jr., who abandoned the family when Eminem was still an infant and rebuffed all of his son's many attempts to contact him during his childhood. As a result, Eminem was raised by his mother, Deborah Mathers. She never managed to hold down a job for more than several months at a time, so they moved frequently between Missouri and Detroit, Michigan, spending large chunks of time in public housing projects. "I would change schools two, three times a year," Eminem later recalled. "That was probably the roughest part about it all."
This itinerant lifestyle left a large impact on his personality. He had no close friends, kept almost entirely to himself and was treated like an outcast at each new school. "Beat up in the bathroom, beat up in the hallways, shoved into lockers," he remembered. Eminem has been scathingly critical of the way his mother raised him. Through his song lyrics, he has publicly accused her of being addicted to prescription drugs as well as subjecting him to emotional and physical abuse. However, Deborah Mathers has vehemently denied all such accusations, and in 1999 she filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit against her son. They settled the case for $25,000.
Eminem attended Lincoln High School in Warren, Michigan, where he failed the ninth grade three times and eventually dropped out at the age of 17. Despite being a poor student, Eminem always had a deep affinity for language, devouring comic books and even studying the dictionary. "I found that no matter how bad I was at school, like, and no matter how low my grades might have been at some times, I always was good at English ... I just felt like I wanna be able to have all of these words at my disposal, in my vocabulary at all times whenever I need to pull 'em out. You know, somewhere, they'll be stored, like, locked away." As a teenage dropout, Eminem found a way to express his passion for language, as well as to release his youthful anger, through the emerging musical genre of hip-hip. He identified with the nihilistic rage of late-1980s and early-1990s rap music, and he was especially taken with N.W.A., the popular and highly controversial gangster rap crew from Los Angeles.
Although at the time rap music was almost exclusively produced by black people, Eminem, who has pale white skin and bright blue eyes, nevertheless entered into the Detroit rap scene as a frequent competitor in rap "battles"—competitions in which two rappers take turns insulting the other through improvised rap lyrics. Eminem proved highly skilled at such verbal sparring and, despite his race, quickly became one of the most respected figures in Detroit's underground rap scene. He recalled, "I finally found something that yeah, this kid over here, you know, he may have more chicks, and he may, you know, have better clothes, or whatever, but he can't do this like me. You know what I mean? He can't write what I'm writing right now. And it started to feel like, you know, maybe Marshall's gettin' a little respect." Mathers assumed the stage name M&M, a playful reference to his initials, which he later began writing phonetically as "Eminem." This period in Eminem's life—working odd jobs to make ends meet while participating in rap battles and desperately attempting to land a record contract—was later dramatized in Eminem's semiautobiographical film 8 Mile.

Use Gsnap As Autotune To Get T-Pain Effect (Settings)

The best Gsnap settings to get T-pain effect just like Autotune.

There are the settings :

Min Freq : 80Hz
Max Freq : 2000Hz
Gate : -80dB
Speed 1
Threshold :100 cents
Amount : 100%
Attack : 1ms
Release : 1 ms
Pitch band : 0 cents
Vibratio : 0 cents
Vib speed : 0,1 Hz
Calibrate : 430 Hz

IMPORTANT : To really get T-pain effect you must know how to do it.

There is several things that you must do right except the settings.

First thing is that you must know what type is your voice, so you must mess a little bit with "SCALE" until you get the right pitch that you want.

Second thing is that you must know how to sing. That is a little bit tricky part of getting t-pain effect. Many of you think that if you have right vst plugin and right settings you must sound just like T-pain and other professional musician/singer/rapper, well that is not quite easy task.

How do you need to sing to get right vocal to apply "T-pain" effect?

Many of you are going to fail but my job is to help you as much I can. Try to sing/rap in one note, do not change the pitch of your voice during singing or rapping. Just pick what style and pitch you want and sing. Then you find out what type is you vocal ( mess with SCALE), and then after all apply these settings.

Some guys comment my posts like : Oo this does not working for me, spam, bullsh*t etc. NO! These settings really working, but you must know how to use them!

Audacity is great vocal recording and sound editing software. It is very simple and easy to use. You can also add some Plug-ins like VST and directX plug-in.

FL Studio Mobile iPod and iPad

  • Load and extend projects in the FL Studio desktop version
  • Resizable, stackable piano keys & reconfigurable drum-pads
  • Stuffed with FL Studio quality instruments, drum kits & loop files
  • 99-track sequencer, Piano roll editor & Step sequencer
  • WAV, MIDI & FLM (project) import/export
  • iPad HD version, iPhone 4 Retina Display support
  • Compatible with the Akai SynthStation 25

Just go to the App Store and if you have an iPhone/iPod Touch FL Studio Mobile OR if you have an iPad FL Studio Mobile HD.

What about Android OS? It's on the roadmap, stop nagging! We have a development team working on a low-latency Android audio-engine and there are many screen resolutions and device specifications to consider, it's not as simple as you may think :)

Does this mean FL Studio on Mac OSX soon? FL Studio Mobile is not a port of the Windows version of FL Studio. It is the product of a completely separate development team, and code, so FL Studio Mobile, while compatible with FL Studio has no impact on FL Studio development and vice versa.

Can I load my own samples?
Not in version 1.0. We plan to enable user uploads in a future update.

Can I use VSTs? No, iOS does not support VSTs and frankly the devices it runs on don't have the CPU power to perform the synthesis you are used to on a desktop. FL Studio Mobile uses high quality sample based instruments made from Image-Line plugins and sample packs.
